We do a Menopause Counseling Session for the lady and her family walking through the physiological changes of menopause, the immediate and late onset symptoms, hot flashes, GSM (Genito-Urinary Syndrome of Menopause which presents with vaginal dryness, itching, repeated infections, urinary leakages, frequent washroom visits, painful intercourse, run away from sexual intimacy, prolapse of organs, etc…) and osteoporosis being the commonest ones, apart from the easy irritability, crying, short term memory loss and depression.
Menopause and the perimenopausal years leading up to it are perhaps one of the most difficult times in a woman’s life. Not only do we undergo physical changes, but also emotional and psychosocial changes. The children are grown up, maybe flown away and don’t need us, partners are really busy and it’s the time to reinvent ourselves.
Simple treatments like lifestyle changes of what we eat, how we exercise, yoga, pilates, pelvic floor strengthening, lasers for vaginal rejuvenation, intake of calcium, better sleep habits, non-hormonal bioidentical and hormonal treatments, regular routine check ups, can really change the quality of life we lead. so discuss with us all your menopausal issues. Let’s not have a “live with them” attitude, especially if they are difficult…
